Top Nose and Paw Balms for Your Dog

A dog’s nose is highly sensitive and can become very painful when their nose tissues are dry, chapped, burnt or cracked. Same with their paws, your dog doesn’t wear shoes, so they need to keep their paws in good shape.

No dog owner wants to see their best friend in pain or discomfort, so the easiest way to remedy this is to use a dog nose &/or paw balm. Here are some great dog nose and paw balms:

My Dog Nose It! – Sun Protection
Last year our dog Kobi went to doggie camp and he came back with a burnt nose. So this year, we bought My Dog Nose It as sun protection for his nose. The doggie camp, Eva’s Play Pups, did a great job of applying it to Kobi’s nose. When he returned from camp, his nose was a bit lighter, but definitely not burnt. We’ll definitely continue to use this natural, safe and water resistant sun protection for Kobi’s nose!

If your dog is still itchy, you might want to see if your dog has any food allergies. Our dog was an itchy puppy until we figured out that he was allergic to grains. We’ve now gone grain free with his dog food (he regularly eats Merrick Backcountry) and he no longer has those itchy bouts.

Dog Cooling Vests – Great for Summer

It’s hot this summer and it doesn’t hurt to have a variety of ways to cool down your pooch. If you’re out for longer walks or taking a hike, it’s great to use a dog cooling vest.

How does it work?

Typically you dip in water (preferably cold water), wring dry and it helps to cool down your dog. Remember, most of your dog’s sweat glands are located around its paw pads. Dogs don’t really have sweat glands on on their torsos, so the cooling vest brings that cooling action like sweat would for humans. If the cooling vest is dipped in cold water, all the better.
